The next day was the weekend, and Anna was very thankful for that fact. To make things better, it was a sunny weekend, with the sun’s rays filling the house with a golden glow and warmth as she got the children ready for a day out.

The workers doing her repairs had already arrived and the sounds of boots and hammers hitting wood filled the air.

She’d have to find a way to distract them.

“Mommy, can we go to the park?” Andrew was asking her incessantly while she gathered her phone and wallet into her bag.

“I’ll think about it.” She said to him distractedly, feeling overwhelmed. She had no idea how the day was going to go but it was obvious she had to find a way to entertain her kids.

Andrew kept on asking about the park and ice cream for the next few minutes as she pulled her children gently out of the house, waving in gratitude to the workers who were already in their work flow.
