I stand outside her apartment building and stare up at it. I’m so tired of this empty void deep inside of me. I can’t bear the thought of Shayla loving someone else. It’s selfish, I know, but I want her to love me and only me. My heart clenches when I see Shayla come out on her balcony. I look up watching her as she closes her eyes and wipes her face with her fingers. She’s crying again. When she looks down, she sees me standing by my car, looking up at her.
