Chapter 70 – The Unexpected Event

(Leigh’s POV)

Alex banged the door, startling Callie and me. She barked continuously, and I wondered if she was barking at me, ranting that I lied to him or at him for closing the door of the apartment so loud that I thought it shook the whole building.

He released the puppy to the floor, running away from us to her play area. Alex grabbed my arm, tugging me to the bedroom.
