Back in the home of one of the villagers, Teo confirmed what Asher had told Vaughan and the King about the types of venom and herbs used. She also confirmed that such a mixture would only be incurable if it had been left for more than a few days unattended. Luckily it was a mixture she had come across before and thus was able to use magic to slow down the venom in Lynnette's body. It would take her a day and a half at the very least, but it could be done. Doing so would give Lynnette more time before her life would be in mortal danger, but it was not a cure.

Wanting to give Teo some space and the quiet to work on helping Lynnette undisturbed, Fenryn ordered no one else was allowed to use the house until further notice. In the meantime, Fenryn had Vaughan in the only other bedroom available to them. The smashed window had been patched up with wooden planks and so the only light within the room came from a few candles dotted about.
