"We don't need a grand party, babe. They won't remember it anyway." Hunter hugged me from the back.

Hugo was in the other room, taking the kids to sleep. Hunter and I were both naked under the thick blanket, we just finished making love and we were talking about the upcoming birthday of the twins.

Time has gone too fast and they'll be turning one this coming Saturday. I wanted it grand and big, I was used to those kinds of parties because I grew up to be spoiled by the family I know.

My lips pucker and my eyes tingled in pity, "but it's their first birthday. It should be memorable." We've been talking about how we'll celebrate their birthday. I want it grand and all but they wanted it simple, just a simple party with the other kids in the neighbourhood and a family time after.

"We can decide about having a grand party once they turn five." He negotiated but I really wanted it on their first birthday.
