"I appreciate it, but I'm fine, thank you," Amanda courteously declined. Despite the pain in her abdomen and throughout her body, she hastily departed from the villa. Twenty minutes later, Betty arrived to pick her up.

As Amanda entered the front passenger seat, she anxiously inquired, "Betty, where's Daniel?"
