CHAP 23

"Don't force yourself to move, Quennie," Jairon said firmly when I was about to wash what we ate.

It's been three days since my wound was stitched. For someone like me who is used to different types of pain, my wound has no effect.

"How can I not? I am fvcking here in your house, in your family's house to be specific," I snorted softly and simply looked at the top of the stairs to make sure his parents couldn't see us.

Cursing came out of my mouth as soon as I woke up in their house. I don't know if I will be ashamed of Jai suddenly bringing me here or afraid of what they might think of me because I was hit with a gun when I came here.

I've never cared about the opinions of those around me; this is the first time I've been so concerned, as if I'd do anything just to improve my image of them.

Jairon smiled and stood up from his seat. He came to me and grabbed the plate I was holding.

"You've been too conscious these past few days," he pointed out to me.
