The culprit

She closed her eyes knowing that was really the last strand of it all and braced for the sharp impact of the knife that she knew her face was going to take.

"Freeze!" She heard somewhere close by and that gave Davies quite a shock, he got so distracted and Ivy could hear a lot of feet running and in seconds, guns were pointed at Davies.

"Drop your weapons, raise your hands up high and step away from her if you don't want your brains splattered on the wall." She heard a police man say and Davies with an angry look, looked from the man to Ivy and seemed to decide his life was better than Ivy's.

With anger, he threw away the knife and released Ivy's hands that he had held tight and raised his hands up high and stepped away from Ivy.

"Move away farther." The police said and he did that.

Ivy stood and looked at her gashing arm and then she heard another pair of feet running and when she looked up, she saw Alexander.

When he got to her, he bent down and sighed as he saw the wound and blood
