Chapter 48.1

THE SUN was about to rise.

We had seen the sun rise as we reached home from the long journey we took last night. Even if we were all tired from fighting all night long, none of us protested about it and that was what I liked about them. We brought five horses with us, three of them were pulling a cart. Two were for the children who were with us and one for the weapons that we used.

I mounted one of the horses while the other one was pulled by Matias who walked beside me. Behind us were our comrades who followed us, walking on their own two feet. I looked at the sky where the darkness was being conquered by the light of the sun as I heard the laughter of the children with their chirpy little voices, some of them were playing with Vivi. Perhaps they were delighted with the way he spoke. Screechy and repeated.

I halted the horse that I am riding when I noticed a black smoke coming from the place where the palace was located, where we resided for the past five years
