Chapter 17

CHAPTER XVII

It was an exhausting week for me. News about me and Paul have been on the TV for weeks. Mama Honey advised me to not say anything. I just stayed at home.

Kade would sometimes visit me but he always makes sure that no one will see him.

“Kade, hindi ba nagagalit si Coleen?”

“Coleen and I are over. We ended things between us silently to avoid the ruckus.”

He was feeding me some chocolate ice cream while I am eating fries.

“What are your plans for your birthday?”

“I plan to celebrate it early with my family and maybe with you on the day of my birthday.” I said hopefully.

“Why don’t we travel abroad? Like Hawaii or Maldives?”

My face lightened up.

“Yes, sure!”

He is with me the whole day. We spent it by eating, watching movies and goofing around. It was like before.

We also look up to some things we need for our trip plus made reservations and bookings for our trip.

“Isla, Charlotte Cabrera wanted you to be in her music video. Would we say yes or no?”

“Sure. I’m in Mama Honey.”

“I’ll send you the details.”

After she dropped the call, Mama Honey sent me the details for the music video. Later that day, Charlotte Cabrera slipped into my dm and told me additional information about it even my outfit.

I thank her for choosing me and she thanks me back for accepting the request.

It was 3 days of shooting the whole music video.

I had to change clothes from time to time. I was like Charlotte’s best friend in there.

When the music video was released, two weeks after the shooting, it was bombarded with lots of good feedbacks.

‘Isla is blooming.’

‘Paul did something to make her look like that.’

‘The look of someone in love.’

‘The music perfectly suits Charlotte and Isla.’

‘Rooting for more of Charlotte and Isla together.’

‘The lyrics are great!’

These are just some of the comments. Kade was there to congratulate me for the success.

The next day, I went to my parent’s house to have the early celebration for my birthday.

“Hello, anak!”

“Hi, ma.” I hugged her back.

“Your daddy is still at work pero malapit na daw siya matapos.”

“It’s okay, mama. Daddy doesn’t need to hurry up. Hindi naman po ako nagmamadali. I came here to spent time with you.”

She just laughed.

I went upstairs to my room to change into some comfy clothes.

I missed my clothes here. These are the first that I have in my entire life before I entered modelling.

I choose a dolphin short and a jersey dress from my favorite basketball team.

Yes, I am a fan of basketball but I didn’t have the time to watch them for all seasons. I just watch their games sometimes.

I tied my hair in a messy bun and went out.

“Ate!”

My brother welcomed me with a tight hug.

“Aidan! How are you?”

“Super fine ate, now that you’re here.”

I pinched both of his cheeks.

“Napak-bolero mo talaga!”

Bumaba na kami and found our parents being sweet. Sana maging ganyan din kami ni Kade.

“Hala, bold!” my brother shouted making my dad frown and my mom blush.

Tinampal ko ang balikat niya.

“You’re so panira talaga ng moment.” I told him and he pouted.

“My princess!” Daddy pulled me in a hug.

“I miss you, daddy.”

“I miss you too, princess.”

When dinner came, the whole table was filled with delicious foods which are my favorites. I can eat whatever I want.

“Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday, happy birthday, happy birthday to you!”

A one-layered cake is carried by my mama. Her eyes are glistening with tears.

“Thank you, guys! I appreciate it so much.”

“Wish na ate!”

I closed my eyes and muttered a wish for myself and my family.

I am not here in my room, opening the gifts from my family. Some of our relatives just delivered the gifts because they were not able to bring it personally.

Some gave a Chanel bag, a Versace dress and some more. My uncle from Chicago gave me twenty-five pairs of Nike shoes.

Some gave me necklace and handbags. My parents gave me a new car while my brother gave me a trip to a famous spa.

Overall, the gifts I received are all luxurious.

I will be with Kade tomorrow night before we fly abroad.

Morning came and my breakfast was delivered to me by my mom. She prepared a Minnie Mouse shaped pancake for me plus my favorite chocolate syrup and chocolate drink.

“Thanks, mama!”

“Anything for my eldest.”

After eating, I showered and went down to see them in the living room. I jumped in with them to spent the day with day.

We watch T.V, cook and had a barbeque party at the pool.

“Ate, cannon ball!”

Water just splashed in my face, hard when my brother jumped into the pool.

“Aidan!”

“Sorry, mama.” He apologized.

We swam and ate until evening came.

As mama was combing my hair, she popped the question.

“Anak, when will you get married?”

I was shocked.

“Do you want me to get married already, mom?”

“You’re in the right age, sweetie. Successful and stable ka na. I want you to be settled na.”

“Sure, ma. Soon.”

“I want to see you settle down with the right man and have your own kids. Hindi na kami bumabata ng daddy niyo.”

Mama shared her concerns with daddy and he agrees. Even Aidan wants to have a niece or nephew already.

The night ended with Aidan and me sleeping with mama and daddy on their bed.

The next day, I went home and readied myself for the trip tomorrow. I have everything I need and I would go to Kade’s penthouse later tonight.

I wasted my hours on packing and just keeping in touch with Kade. I rode my car to his place. He was in full disguise when he went to fetch me at the parking lot.

When the door opened, a candlelight dinner surprised me.

“W-What is this, Kade?”

“I want to celebrate this day with you.”

“Anong meron?”

“Nothing. I just wanted to be sweet and fancy.”

The foods prepared were amazing and I’m sure to have gain another calorie.

“Thank you for the fancy dinner, babe.”

“For my babe.”

After we goof around washing the dishes, we fell asleep in each other’s arms.
