Axel
I was in a dilemma.
I looked back and forth at the bloody Logan on the ground and at my mom, who had a knife near her neck.
"Fuck this," I muttered under my breath and let go of Logan to go to my mom.
I saw Sebastian walking towards my mom as well, so I gestured for him to go behind the burly man who was holding my mother.
With one look, Sebastian elbowed the burly man's head, causing him to pass out on the ground. At the same time, I caught my mom in my arms and removed the ropes tied around her arms.
"Are you okay?" I asked softly, removing the ropes as carefully as possible. She already had so many cuts on wounds on her body, and I didn't want to add to them anymore.
"Axel," she said softly, and a surge of happiness entered my heart. I didn't know just how much I missed the sound of my mom's voice until I heard it.
My eyes widened in realization when I remembered that I had left
RosalindI felt like I was being poured with a cold bucket of water. I swiftly turned around when Luna Aerin said my mother's name.We mirrored each other's wide eyes, both speechless."How—how do you know my mother's name?" I asked after a long period of silence.I saw her eyes tearing up and became even more confused. Does she know my mom?"She's your mother?"I slowly nodded my head.I don't know what happened, but the next thing I know, she had already hugged me in her arms."Oh god," she muttered under her breath as she tenderly caressed my hair.A tear fell from my eyes as I reciprocated her hug—the warmth that I felt in her arms resembling the warmth that emanated from my mother.Axel groaned in his sleep, causing both of us to look at him.She broke away from the hug. "Do you want to talk about this tomorrow? I promise to tell you everythin
Rosalind"I—I don't know what you're talking about," I said, avoiding her eyes. She chuckled and placed her hands on my shoulder, forcing me to face her. "Come on, Rosalind. I'm not blind. I could see the way that you look at my son."I looked down on my lap. "I naturally have eyes that look like this," I feigned innocence. She ruffled my hair. "There's no use hiding this from me. I've seen this look many times on your mom, and now I'm seeing it on you. Oh, how fast time flies."I let out a deep sigh and bit my lip. "Is it that obvious?"She laughed. "Yeah. I'm surprised that Axel hasn't noticed. Or maybe he has noticed."My eyes widened as I looked at her. "Has he?""No, I highly doubt it," she said, making me sigh out in relief. "If there's one thing that Axel and his father have in common is that they are both dense. Do you know how long I've been dropping him hints that I like him just for him to treat me
RosalindI looked for somewhere to hide, but it was already too late. Axel came into the room with a teasing smile on his face, and all I could do was look down at the ground and hit myself on the head in embarrassment. Why the hell did I forget about Sebastian and I's deal?"Ooh, hey! You're back?" I awkwardly greeted him.He didn't say anything and just kept on staring at me with inquiring eyes. I squirmed under his gaze and tried to find a way to escape."Right! I need to do something...something with Sebastian! We have to do something today," I said, trying to go out of the room, but Axel covered the door before I could."Excuse me," I muttered under my breath and squeezed myself under his armpits, but he suddenly started walking forward, causing me to look up at him with wide eyes. With each step he took forward, I took a step backward. It came to the point where my back had already bump
RosalindI sighed in disappointment. "Uhm, yeah. Of course. I understand why you don't like me. I mean—wait, what?" I looked up at him with wide eyes.He looked down at me with amusement in his eyes."Can you repeat what you just said?"He smiled. "Hmm, I don't think so," he said, removing his hands from the wall and moving away from me. I held onto his biceps and forced him to look into my eyes."Axel. Repeat what you just said.""No," he stubbornly said.I sighed in exasperation. "Repeat it, please. Repeat it...for me," I said, my voice almost breaking. He threw his head back and groaned. "Fuck. You're going to be the death of me.""Come on now, please. Please," I looked up to him with wide and bright eyes.He let out a small breath and brought his face closer to mine. I could feel his breath hovering over my lips, almost touching them."I said, I think I'm
RosalindIt has been two days since Axel and I confessed our feelings to each other, and I couldn't be happier. I just feel so...comfortable whenever I'm with him. Yes, we still bicker from time to time, but the difference is that we steal some kisses here and there throughout the day.Like right now, we were currently holed up in my room just watching a random television show."Do you even know what's happening?""Nope," he said with a popping 'p' sound."Then why'd you put it on?"He tilted his head to the side and kissed my cheek. "Honestly, I just wanted to have an excuse to hang out with you in this room."I clicked my tongue. "You don't have to make up an excuse just to be with me. You can just tell me. I want to hang out with you anyway," I said gently."Hmm. Okay. I'll just tell you right away next time then."We just sat there, playing with each other's fingers and laughing once in a whil
Rosalind"Rosalind, just give me your bag," Axel sighed, trying to get my backpack from me.I chuckled while looking at his pouty face. "Axel, I can carry my bag on my own. Just treat me how you've been treating me back then.""But I was an asshole to you back then.""At least you know," I joked."Rosalind," he whined.I went closer to him and held onto his cheeks. "I'm joking. You were an asshole to me on the first week that we've met, but do you think I'd like you if you were just an asshole? You are sweet, kind, hardworking, and incredibly handsome. That's why I fell for you."I saw the corner of his lips going up, making me want to tease him. "Are you happy now?""It's because of you.""Hmm? I make you happy?"He placed his arms around my waist, rubbing them up and down. "Very."I felt my face heating up, so I hit his chest to get him to stop holding my waist."Enough with
Rosalind"Axel," I said, my voice shaking. From the sound of the growl, I could tell that the size of the creature in front of us was enormous. As the fog cleared out, I found out that my suspicions were right.Axel and I unconsciously took a step backward, looking at the ginormous being in front of our eyes. It was a big, green creature—nothing like I've ever seen before. Its teeth were dripping with some kind of black liquid, and I covered my nose because it smelled like rotten garbage. Its eyes were bloodshot, almost hungry, and its skin was scaly like a snake and rough like tree bark."What...is that?" I asked, both in awe and in fear."I don't know," Axel responded. The creature suddenly started walking toward us, and Axel started slowly unsheathing his sword. The creature must have been incredibly observant because the next thing we knew, it pounced on us, baring its teeth.
RosalindAxel and I looked at each other before turning our attention to the man right in front of us.He had a huge smile on his face, and he was looking at us with bright and cheery eyes. Is this really Alpha Cupid? The Alpha Cupid I've heard of is strong, mean, and quite intimidating.Looking at the man right in front of us now, it seems like he wouldn't even be able to hurt a fly.I looked around his office. "Are you sure we're in the right place?" I whispered.Axel looked at his map with furrowed eyebrows. "Yes. We're in the right location," he nodded his head."Where were you planning on going?" the man right in front of us intercepted."Uhmm," I stalled. "To Alpha Cupid.""Oh, then you've come to the right place. I'm Alpha Cupid—if it wasn't obvious," he gestured to the huge nameplate in front of him.Axel pulled his chair closer and observed Alpha Cupid. "Don't you
