"You think you'll command me to leave and I'll just listen? Hell, no. You're being wicked, Damien. Wicked, yes, that's the best way to describe you." Alex said at once in a very angry tone. He was really angry that Damien would even think of doing this to Ariel , he didn't know that Damien could actually watch Ariel get beaten and hurt on his orders. He proceeded to take Ariel from the guard, but Damien's voice stopped him."Leave, Alex . Leave." Damien said in his wolf voice. He raised his head and looked at Alex with his wolfish eyes. Alex knew what that meant, so he backed away from Ariel . The guard started hitting her again and he just couldn't take it, so he left the room immediately, but not before looking into Ariel 's eyes. He could see how hurt and betrayed she felt. His heart really breaks for Ariel .After Alex left, the guard continued hitting Ariel while Ariel just stood still and took the pain. Damien couldn't stop looking at Ariel getting hit, he felt a little bit satis
As Damien's hand connected to Ariel's face, she suddenly found herself falling backward into the dark abyss that she never noticed was behind her. She suddenly snapped awake. It seems it was all a dream all along. She was very disoriented as she tried to get off her bed.Her first attempt had her tumbling off the bed in a pathetic roll. As soon as she landed on the ground, she heard a glass shatter. Her mind was immediately cleared as she felt a sharp pain in her leg. She rolled onto her back and looked downward at her leg.She cursed when she noticed that the vial she had clutched in her sleep had broken and spilled all over her legs. She looked around for anything to wipe away the liquid, but she wasn't able to find it. She stumbled onto her feet and swayed a bit. She soon spotted a box of napkins she had swiped from the kitchen earlier. She felt dizzy and drowsy so she knew the liquid was already taking effect. She shook her head to shake her drowsiness and stumbled towards the box.
Damien woke up the next morning to Alex mind linking him. He tried ignoring it because he still wasn't supposed to be talking to him yet. But, he kept breaching his mind for a while and Damien decided to open his mind to him as it might be something very important concerning the pack "What do you want from me?" His mind groaned."Some of the pack guards on patrol last night said there were suspicious sightings of rogues near the pack border."Damien flipped him off, whilst thinking of such a big dick his beta was. "Now, down to business," Alex said, "We need you down here as soon as possible.""But, she's still unconscious. I can't just leave her alone." Ariel was still very much unconscious, she didn't even move at all throughout the night."Come on now, Damien. They found something. You're needed right now. It's very urgent," Alex said as he disconnected the mind link. He looked at Ariel and held her face in his hand. He couldn't leave her alone, but he needed to. He needed to protec
Ariel woke up to her head pounding and something pulling at her legs. It didn't register to her until the person started pulling on hard and her eyes flew open."What are you doing?" She asked Layla who suddenly looked up from what she was doing."Oh good, you're awake. How could you mess everything up?" Layla yelled looking at the door to make sure that no one was coming. "You had one job to do and you didn't even do it right.""It wasn't my fault. I couldn't just do it," Ariel said, she was still very weak and didn't think she needed all these shouting at the moment. Her head pounded like crazy and she still felt like her insides would turn to dirt."You can't just bail out like that. You have to be steadfast and do what you have to do." Layla was beyond angry at the fact that said plan didn't work and that Ariel was there, laying in the Alpha's bed. This wasn't part of the plan and her plans always go according to plan."You can't possibly be telling me to do it," Ariel questioned,
Ariel watched him walk away in anger as she held onto her arm, she had been injured badly. In tears, she locked the door behind her as she examined her injuries. Why’d all these have to happen? Why’d he have to find out about how his parents had died just when she thought the moon goddess had listened to her prayers? Was it that she wasn’t destined to be happy? Was it that this was her life now? She closed her eyes as memories of how he’d tortured her hit her again. He’d now made it his daily routine to hit her and it hurt… it hurt so badly, especially when she knew that he was her mate and he knew equally as much. She closed her eyes and let the fresh memories of the pain that had just been inflicted on her flooded her head. He’d dragged her as he threw her to the door without any mercy while she’d screamed in pain. She’d not even recovered from the pain that was inflicted on her a few days before and hence, she hurt her arm. Not waiting for her to even recover, he grabbed her hair.H
The night was still, windless and clear, as a result of which, every sound was distinct and intensified, the howl of a wolf all the way from the neighboring pack border, could be clearly heard in the woods. On this night, the natural black hugs the stars as a mother to her newborn, the road is midnight under the cloud, yet beyond is the dawn. A cold night, a lucid moon, heaven's eyes shine in the black as a divine watchful mother. It borrows body heat as if it were a cup of sugar, yet when the new light of day returns it with honeycomb. The sound of heavy footsteps rang in Ariel's ears, but she was too deep in her sleep to open her eyes. The cell door creaked open as a figure entered the dark room, closing it softly. He walked slowly to where Ariel layed on the floor and knelt down, running his hands through her legs, Ariel is startled as she opens her eyes wide ready to scream, only to be stopped by his large hands."Wh-" she mumbled, struggling against him. "Shut up Ariel , it's me,"
Damien paced restlessly around his room angry and frustrated. He had a bad temper which was almost impossible to subdue whenever triggered because of his wolf nature, apparently and also because he was Alpha. The rage, lust and anger that came with it was sometimes uncontrollable. That rage was taking its toll now on Damien with the thought of his parents’ murders constantly. He kept walking around from left to right and back around his room critically thinking of how to capture the Rogues’ Alpha. The Rogues wanted him dead equally for holding some of their people captive and making slaves out of them, but he did not intend to grant them such an opportunity. Most of his plans to capture him had failed and each time, he took it hard and exerted that frustration on anyone. The pack in training, Alex , Elle and even Ariel . Basically anyone but especially Ariel . He punished her every time he got frustrated by Rogues, saying that it was her people and that she should continue to suffer no
Layla smiled to herself. There was joy in her heart. Their plan of long ago was blossoming and almost close to succeeding. Who would have thought that it would? It showed that patience paid sometimes, even if it was hard to wait for some things to manifest. Waiting was grueling and tiring and frustrating too, but when doing some things, you just had to be patient. If you rushed into them without exercising any patience, things like that were doomed to fail. She understood that and it was why she'd exercised excruciating patience on this particular issue.Damien and Ariel 's relationship was crumbling. It was falling apart into crumbs and the two people involved in the relationship didn't seem like they wanted to salvage it, or rather, whatever was left of it but that didn't bother Layla. She was even happy about it. She was even overjoyed. The falling apart of their relationship showed that both of them were drifting apart day by day and it also signified one other thing. It signified
