55. Rejection
As we crash to the floor, my head smashes against the edge of the fridge with a loud thud, what did Christian say? He said something about Daryl not being my mate.
Whilst my body is sprawled out on the floor, making sense of what Daryl just said, the men are fighting and throwing each other across the room.
Rubbing my head, I get on my feet “What did you say about Daryl?” but they don’t hear me as Christian launches Daryl into the cupboards, the clattering of saucepans ringing out as they clatter to the floor.
“STOP!!”
Both men stop what they are doing and look at me “Tell her” Christian speaks through clenched teeth
“There is nothing to say” he brushes down his tshirt as he stands
“Daryl, tell her”
“Tell me what”
“He is lying to you Ash, about your mate bond, you are not mated”

I don’t see Daryl for the rest of the day and I was grateful, instead I was spending the afternoon mulling over Christians words and wondering if he had felt the sparks between us like I had. Searching the house and the grounds, he is nowhere to be found, Daryl is sparring with one of the men from Christians pack and watches me hastily march across the grounds. He doesn’t stop, nor does he call out to me and it finally felt like he was giving me a break. What choice did I have but to agree although I was not sure what my end of the deal would mean. The vampire agreed to meet me in one hour with other vampires.
