Chapter 48

Lea:

“Are you okay?” I asked, noticing that the Alpha was not only quiet, but was looking out of the window as if he'd been struck by lightning.

He jumped at my question, and I looked down at my lap, regretting even speaking when I saw his anger being directed at me. It wasn’t long lived though as he forced himself to calm down before nodding at me.

“I am just thinking,” he said, and I nodded.

“I can tell,” I said, and he smiled. “Your madre wouldn’t want to see you in this state. I do suggest that you try and calm down. She would feel the slightest of changes in you, and you are still sore and injured regardless of theoretically healing, you are going to need more time to properly recover.”

“Why are you this kind to me?” He asked, taking me off guard. “I was a jerk to you and yet…”

“I do not need you to be kind to me for me to return the act. Plus, I am not even being kind to YOU. I am concerned about your mother who will be worried about you when she sees you in this state.”

I can't be the only one who feels bad for Lea, right?
