The anger in me rose in multiple folds as I stared at her. I clenched my jaw as she sat still on the bench.

Were her legs truly ruined, or she was just pretending?

I moved closer to her and lowered myself. Her eyes widened as she looked at me. I bet she didn’t see it coming.

“What are you doing?”

“I am doing what you asked me to do. Carry you.”

I grabbed her by the waist and threw her over my shoulders. She tried struggling but she was too weak. I could feel her pulse as I carried her on my shoulders.

Being the stubborn mate she was, I expected her to throw punches at my back, but this time she was awkwardly calm.

“Wait for me in front of the house.”

Volker and Jan bowed their head, and I walked past them. I walked in through the back door and headed for her room.

Soon, I heard her chuckle, and I furrowed my brows, looking at her.

“You would carry me like this tomorrow and the next till I don’t feel any pain.”
