-AURORA’S POV-

The sound of a baby's cry jolted me awake from my slumber. I saw Ruth, holding the crying infant and gently trying to rock him back to sleep. However, her efforts seemed to be in vain, as the child continued to cry. The moment her gaze met mine, a sigh of relief escaped her lips.

"Finally," she exclaimed as she approached me. I extended my hand towards the child. As he slipped into my embrace, he gazed up at me with his blue eyes and let out a gentle chuckle.

I smiled, and as I reached out, he grabbed a handful of my hair. "Thank you, Ruth," I expressed with heartfelt appreciation, giving her a grateful glance. She returned the smile and gave a gentle nod before taking a seat beside my bedside.

“How are you feeling now?” she asked me as her hand clasped mine while her eyes stared at me with genuine concern lingering in them.
