Hunter sat beside the bed on the sofa chair silently peering at her. She was soundly asleep. Her chest moved up and down in the soft rhythm of her breathing. There was no cold look on her face. Those eyes that looked empty were closed. She looked so innocent and peaceful.

Hunter leaned back on the chair. It felt after ages his heart was at peace.

His gaze lingered over the scars on her face and neck. The image of her tied with ropes and covered in bloody scars raked his head and the urge to kill Armando came back. Only if he could keep that f*cker alive. Hunter would've killed him in millions of different ways every day and still won't let him die.

The soft intensity of his gaze roved over her face. Her long black lashes curtained her cheeks. Her dried lips were parted as she drew in shallow breaths. Her hair formed a black fluff of a cloud on the pillow.

She looked so delicate and fragile that the intense feeling to protect her from the world engulfed him but he knew better than
