Killian and Lyra turned to look at each other as they stood in front of Maximilian's door.

Lyra exhaled deeply and raised her hands to knock on the door, before her hands could hit the door, the door went open.

Lyra swallowed hard as the door swung open, revealing Maximilian standing before them. The tension in the air was palpable, as if the weight of their recent fall out hung between them like a heavy fog. Lyra's heart pounded in her chest, her palms moist with a mixture of anticipation and anxiety.

"Maximilian," Lyra managed to say, her voice laced with a hint of uncertainty. "We need to talk."

Maximilian's face betrayed no emotion as he stepped aside, silently inviting them in.

The room beyond was dimly lit, casting long shadows that seemed to dance around the walls. The atmosphere inside was suffocating, as if creepy creatures whispered among the darkened corners.
