Aramis took Layla back to his room and, just in the next few seconds, Silver too joined them.

She had an entire conversation prepared in her mind but seeing Layla panicking and out of breath shocked her. “What happened to her?” she asked Aramis, who had filled a glass of water for Layla to calm her down.

“That bastard frightened her,” Aramis grunted, not because he was too passionate about Layla but because Hassel was still walking around and harassing others.

“I wish he tries that on me. I will shrink his balls with my magic.” Silver clenched her jaw, hugging Layla and patting her back.

“That won’t be necessary. Remember, I have told the werewolf counsel you are not practicing magic anymore.” Aramis sat down because he had some questions for Silver. “You spoke to Zion? Did he say something informative?” he couldn’t wait to find out why the wailing brides took Phoenix’s body away.
