We were sitting on the bench, watching Hope play. We came here after lunch since going back to the mansion where Roxanne was made us both uncomfortable. The mansion had a very weird aura around it. It not only feels very depressing but one would feel lost when walking into the mansion.
But that wasn’t what I planned to discuss with Silas about. I had to speak to him about the things he told Hope at the lunch about us getting married.
I adjusted myself, straightening my posture to get ready for a huge argument. I bet Silas noticed my body language because he turned to face me before I could even open my mouth.
"Why did you tell her we are getting married?" I raised an option, watching him start mending his tie uncomfortably.
"Because I thought that would be the right thing to do," he replied, trying not to make it seem like a big issue. But it was a big thing, especially when he thought that is what I would want.
"Just because you have now fou
"Sorry, what do you mean?" I closed my eyes and focused on listening to him. I felt like maybe I have heard him wrong, could be the wind making him sound weird and crazy."I'm not the one who doesn't want to get married, so you do it but if you made me look like a bad person, then I'll deal it my way," he didn’t shy away from explaining what he had said. I was shocked to hear him stubbornly push me into the mud that he had dug and filled up for me."Huh! Just a few hours ago you were telling me how sorry you are," I scoffed, feeling extremely frustrated with him."I am but that doesn't mean I will make myself look bad in front of my daughter. Just like you, I too care about my daughter," he shrugged his shoulders, it seemed like he was finally deciding to throw tantrums for getting rejected.“But you were the one who gave her a false hope,” I argued back but from the looks of his face, one could tell no matter what I say, he was not goin
‘And there is a couch,’ I then pointed at the couch in the corner of the room. ‘Are you planning on giving up such a comfortable bed for the couch?’ as Icy raised a concern, I found it hard to let go of the bed. ‘But he cannot fix in that couch, he is too tall for that couch,’ I groaned tiredly. ‘And how is that our problem?’ Icy was right, I shouldn’t worry about him. Hence it was decided. I took a quick shower and got ready for the bed before his arrival so that when he arrives, I am already in the bed either sleeping or pretending to be asleep. The bed was extremely comfortable. The soft blanket over my body was making me smile and cuddle with myself. I was glad that I made the right decision, I don’t care if he has to suffer while sleeping on the couch, I have slept in the worst conditions while pregnant with Hope. I was still in bed when I heard the door being opened and closed shut. My eyes were shut tightly so that he thinks I a
I stayed there whilst he slept in my lap. I wanted to slide his head down in the bed and get away from him but something inside me was stopping me from moving away from him.It wasn't a lie that I have not been able to get over him entirely but at least I had been trying to do good. He seemed at comfort when in my lap, I never noticed him having sleep issues because recently, he had been falling asleep a lot. Firstly, he slept like a baby in the car and now in my lap, I was beginning to feel like this was the only time he had slept in years.I fell asleep with my back leaning against the big pillow behind me while he slept peacefully in my lap. It was a little comforting for our wolves, I bet. Icy must have commented and bothered me the entire night had she been awake. This worries me a little bit about her, she had been sleeping a lot lately which isn’t a good sign. Imagine I am in need of her and she is sleeping, usually, she sleeps when I sleep but now
"What? The wedding?" Roxanne asked furiously, but hoping to come off as less aggressive as she could be. I shook my head secretly at the mess she was going to create for us now.“Mommy and daddy’s wedding,” Hope being an innocent child she was, murmured very sweetly. Roxanne’s jaw hit the floor as she watched our faces one by one. In order to avoid her from getting all riled up and saying something offensive in front of Hope, I managed to speak to Hope."Hope! Come on! Finish your breakfast, you are getting late," I said, looking at my plate instead of watching Roxanne see what she was doing.Roxanne seemed shocked because she had dropped the fork on the plate. Everything went awkwardly silent after that, Hope and Silas were the only ones that were still eating. I was only playing with my food while Hope had finished the food.I took Hope to the car and after I returned, I found Roxanne standing near the table and Silas eating his
Once she left, I fell asleep on the couch only to wake up at a call from the Gamma I had met yesterday."Hm?" I woke up and cleared my throat, yet the only word escaping my lips was a noise."I'm sorry to bother you but I thought you might want to know about this," he said a little too anxiously, making me worried about what had happened."What happened?" I asked, rubbing my eyes and yawning a bit."Remember you have asked me to give you a report on the old files of the border control employees? I couldn't find it. It seems to have gone missing," As he mumbled those words, I felt like somebody stole the world from under my feet."What do you mean by it is missing?" I sat straight now that it had come down to the security of the pack."I can't find it anywhere," he said again, wondering where it went."But that file holds very private information," I sighed in worry, getting up on my feet and packing back and forth."I know. Tha
“Ehh!” I groaned, not able to open my eyes.I didn’t know what had happened earlier but my body felt weak. I felt the motion and determined that I was in a car. My body was starting to feel even dizzier and all I could remember was her words. She gave me wolfbane and God knows what else!“She is in the trunk.” I recognized Roxanne’s voice, so I was right! I was in the trunk of the car.“Just in about a few minutes, I will get rid of her,” she sounded happy when talking about her evil plans regarding me, “It was supposed to end this way, mom,” she hung up on Tessa and kept driving. I found myself tied in big silver chains, my wrist all burnt and so were all the areas where the silver was in contact with my body.I slowly started to doze off again and this time when I was beginning to regain consciousness, I found Roxanne dragging me out of the trunk. My body landed on the ground with a thud, I
Roxanne’s POV:I couldn’t be happier; this day had finally arrived when I have gotten everything on a right track. I was driving the car and humming, going back home to my husband and my daughter when mom called for a meetup.I was craving to go back and talk to Silas but this mother couldn’t stop bothering me.“Hm?” I walked inside the café and reached my mother’s table. She was sitting there with glasses on and acting all in disguise.“What is it?” I slammed my handbag on the table and flopped down in frustration. Is she always going to annoy me whenever I want to celebrate my victory with my child?“Roxanne! Sweetie, I wanted to come here and congratulate you personally on this big achievement,” she smiled sweetly as she showed her fake white teeth to me.“Thank you, does that mean I can leave now?” I raised my brow, feeling exhaust
Roxanne’s POV:I rolled my eyes and let out a groan, it was not the right day to even talk about my mother’s several ways of pissing off everyone.‘Enough about bad-mouthing mother. You do know that whatever opportunities we are getting today are because of her right? If she hadn’t sent us to the club that nigh---,’ before I could finish, Anne interrupted me pretty brutally.‘She had sent us? This is why don’t lie so passionately that you start believing your lies. It was all our idea, from taking Octavia to drugging Silas. The only mistake we made was to leave him alone for a single minute and then the next we know, our slu**y sister is under him in the car,’ she reminded me of the true events of the night.‘It was so painful,’ I remembered everything vividly, ‘I stood outside the car while he had se* with her. My heart was ripped out of my chest by my sister, wh
