Chapter Seventy-seven

Eleanor was getting one too many unexpected visitors that night. First was the vampire princess. Now Benjamin had shown up too, towering over her door in an intimidating manner. He might not mean to seem that way, but taking up that much space with his size surely did make it so.

Fear kicked in again and Eleanor wished she had not asked Evie to leave for the night. If she had not been in such haste to see the Alpha King, she would not have dismissed her maid.

"What brings you to my room?" Eleanor summoned up the courage to ask. It was unusual for him to visit. She had agreed to be friends with Benjamin, but it did not insinuate he could show up to her room whenever he liked without invitation. It made her a bit uncomfortable.

It was almost late at night. What if Drakken had seen them and gotten the wrong impression? She could not be bothered about that anymore, Eleanor reminded herself.

"I am curious," he spoke, moving away from the door. "Where were you going?"
