Preparing to be Mrs Churchill

"So, what did Lucas say?" Eden asked Maya the next day when she came visiting.

"Easy there, calm down." Maya said with a teasing smile.

Eden blushed, she had let her excitement get the better of her.

Maya sat on the couch and cleared her throat like she had a big news to announce.

"He said yes." she told Eden.

Eden couldn't believe her ears, "What did you say?" she asked Maya.

"I said he said yes, prepare to be Mrs Lucas Thornhill."

Eden bit her lips to keep herself from squealing.

"How did you get him to say yes?" she asked.

"I didn't have to persuade him that much, I just told him you needed his help. You know how Lucas is? As soon as he heard your predicament and how he could help, he immediately agreed."

"Thank you so much Maya." Eden thanked her.

"You are welcome. Now Lucas is coming over later, so you guys can finalize the details. Don't act weird or awkward, got it?"

"Got it." Eden replied.

"I am so happy for you Eden, soon you are going to get married and become the Luna."

"I don't know if I can do it Maya, I don't know anything about leadership and I don't think the pack members hold me in high esteem."

Maya reached out and held her hand, "That's why I and Lucas are there. We are going to help you take care of everything."

"Thank you, I don't know what I would have done without you guys in my life."

There was a knock on the door and an omega entered the room.

"Lucas is here to see you." the omega informed Eden.

"Well that's my cue to leave." Maya said.

Eden held on to her, "you can't leave, I can't face him alone."

"But you have hung out with him alone before."

"But that was before, now that we are to be married, I don't know what to do or say before him."

Maya patted her hair, "I am sure you will be fine." She looked at the omega, "tell him to come up here."

"Yes ma'am." the omega said and left.

Maya stood up and picked up her handbag, "When everything is finalized, let me know so we can go dress shopping together."

Ignoring Eden protests, she left the room, on her way downstairs she bumped into Lucas. The both of them exchanged a secret smile as they passed each other.

Eden was pacing the room anxiously and thinking of what to say to Lucas when he arrived.

"Eden!" she shivered when she heard his voice.

She turned around to see him standing in the doorway, he looked very handsome.

"Hey Lucas." she managed to say.

"How are you doing?" he asked

"Fine, you?"

"I am okay. Can I come in?"

"Sure...of course you can." Ava said nervously.

Lucas came inside and sat on the couch, he patted the space close to him, "Come and sit close to me." he told her.

Eden perched on the couch. "Thanks for helping me Lucas."

"You are welcome eden, it's not that much of a big deal."

"It is. Agreeing to marry someone is a big deal and I am grateful you decided to help me."

Lucas ruffled her hair. "You are my friend and friends help each other out, if marrying you and helping you out is going to help you become the Luna and continue your Father's legacy, I will gladly do it."

"Thanks Lucas, I don't know what I would have done without you and Maya in my life."

"Neither do I know what I have done without your sunshine presence in my life." Lucas smiled at her.

Eden could feel her heart beat even faster when he smiled, she wanted to jump into his arms and kiss him. She restrained herself from doing so.

'Goodness Eden! How are you going to get married to the man when you can't even control yourself around him' she chided herself.

"Eden, are you okay?" Lucas asked in concern when he saw that she was been quiet.

"I am fine, I was just deep in thought. We should go see Odi and inform him about the marriage so he can tell the elder council." she told Lucas.

"okay then let's be on our way."

They both went to see Odi and they informed him that they had decided to get married.

"Are you sure this is what you want? I can convince the elders to give you more time." Odi told Eden.

"I am sure, this is what I want. Lucas is my friend and I trust him very much." Eden said.

Odi looked at Lucas suspiciously, "and you, are you sure this is what you want? Don't you want to get married to your true mate?"

"I just want to help Eden, she is my friend. And as for marrying my true mate, I have never seen my mate before, I don't even know if she is out there. I want to get married to Eden." Lucas assured Odi.

Although Odi was still very suspicious of Lucas, he still agreed to their union and told them he would inform the council later.

Later that day, Odi informed the council about the matter.

"Well she made a good choice, I know Lucas, he is a strong warrior." one of the elders said.

"And he is also a good friend of hers so it is a perfect match." another elder added.

The elders were all pleased with the union between Lucas and Eden.

"The wedding and swearing in will be held in a week time, inform the omegas to start preparation." the elders told Odi.

"Don't you think the time frame is too short, at least we should give her an opportunity to change her mind." Odi argued.

"Look Odi, you are starting to make me angry, did she tell you she isn't sure?" one of the elders asked.

"No, she didn't." Odi answered.

"Then keep your opinions to yourself, the wedding will hold in a week and that is final."

The meeting ended and everybody dispersed to their houses.
