Alpha Jones smiled.Scott was walking towards him in the throne room. He was looking very sad.Alpha Jones stood up anxiously. He couldn't smile anymore. He became impatient, he wanted to know why Scott was unhappy."What is wrong, Scott?" he breathed heavily."This" Scott showed him a small ornament like bead. "Do you know who owns this?" he sighed and held up his hand for Alpha Jones to have a closer look."What is that?" Alpha Jones didn't bother to check it out."I don't know" he gave a confusing reply. "I was asleep when I noticed someone leaning over me before I could open my eyes. His hands were already strangling me" he recounted."His hands? Who is it?" Alpha Jones didn't need to hear the rest of the story. He wanted to give appropriate judgment right away."I don't know who it is" Scott shook his head."How do you know he is a man if you didn't see his face?" he was only concerned about getting the identity."A man's hands feel different. I can recognize by getting touched"
"I thought I told you not to kill him" Sophie spilled angrily immediately she laid her eyes on the Mage. The Mage had been locked up behind bars in the basement of the Manor. He looked devastated. It seemed the consequences of his actions had now dawned on him."They have told you the same lie. He will be dead by now if I wanted to kill him" the Mage rose up and tightened his fists on the bars."Are you saying everything leveled against you is a lie?" Sophie didn't want to believe. The last time she told him not to kill Scott. He did not react well."I didn't try to kill him. Not until I met him in the throne room. The last time I saw him was when he busted us in the hallway" he replied strongly."Then how come?" Sophie wondered."How come what?" the Mage asked."He had your jewel bead. He said he caught it when you were both struggling against each other" Sophie related "Why do all of you believe that to be an evidence?. He could have picked that up anywhere" he fumed. "Actually, I
Two guards held another one and dragged him inside.Sophie could recognize the guard being dragged. He was the one at the Mage's cell. She knew immediately what was happening."What's the fuss all about?" Alpha Jones slammed the arm of his throne. His loud voice brought the guards to a halt. They didn't say anything. They just froze in their position."You have ears, right? And you heard the Alpha asking you a question" Sophie challenged them before Alpha Jones could burst out at them again. "He let the Mage escape" one of the guards reported."He let the Mage escape or you let the Mage escape?" Alpha Jones fumed."He is stationed at his cell and he just came to announce his disappearance. He was the one who talked to him last and there was no one else there with them" the guard explained again."That isn't the question I asked you" Alpha Jones gnatched his teeth. "You all have the keys to his cell, don't you?" he stood up and moved towards them slowly."Yes!!" the guards chorused."
Sophie scurried into the room and sat on the bed. She buried her face in her hands and tried to catch her breath. After some moment, she heaved a long sigh. She needed to find the Mage to start the major purpose why she helped him escape. She must not waste more time after the statement made by Alpha Jones. It seemed Scott's enchantment on him was potent than she thought. But there was a mistake in her plan. It wouldn't be easy to find the Mage. He was not traceable. He gave no clue about where he was headed and she had to find him before the guards. She started storming her brain thinking of possible places where the Mage could be found. He must have gone to a place where he believed Alpha Jones wouldn't think of.First thing, she would need to disguise as someone else before making any contact with him. She dashed over to her wardrobe, to find any clothes that could be useful. She opened the wardrobe and swept the clothes aside to see the innermost part."Oh my..!" she yelled but q
The room was nothing but a mess. Sophie hesitated at the entrance. She had no clue where to face. She thought there would be something like a shelf where all the jars, book of spells and other magical ingredients would be neatly arranged. The Mage's room wasn't like that. It was something else. With everything scattered all over, like the room of someone who left the town in a hurry. She ventured in and kicked through the mess. She finally found the set of jars placed beside each other. They had covers with all the colors present in the world except red, the one she wanted specifically. She folded her arms on her chest and sighed heavily. This is going to be a hard task for her."I should get to work" she stared around the room. She started from where she was standing, checking everything she could lay her hands on.She searched all the corners of the room but there wasn't any jar with a red cover."I think the Mage is suffering from color blindness" she moaned. There were a lot of ja
Sophie walked in and sat down quietly on her seat beside Alpha Jones' throne. She sighed. She was feeling awkward. She put her hand over her dress to feel the vial she hid underneath. "How are you?" she asked awkwardly to reduce her tension."I'm fine" Alpha Jones chuckled and stared at her cluelessly. He had definitely noticed her awkwardness."You are alone here?" she wanted to keep talking to avoid him finding out more."Of course. But my amiable Beta will join me soon" Alpha Jones responded casually.Sophie heaved a long sigh again now with a smiling face. The opportunity was coming and she didn't want to miss it. Missing it would be the beginning of another problem.Scott came in not long after. He smiled broadly as he continued to get near the throne."We have been waiting for you" Alpha Jones happiness was obvious."And here I am, Alpha" Scott opened his arms wide and turned around."And I have good news for you too" Sophie cut in quickly. "About the two boats, the one that is
Sophie opened the wardrobe hastily. The Mage popped out his head as always but Sophie couldn't say anything. She just shook her head."Guess that didn't work?" the Mage moaned sadly."We have just jumped out of the frying pan into fire" Sophie finally sighed."The potion failed to work? I am sure I did everything I have to do. It should work unless he has some countering spells he is using" the Mage whined regretfully. He looked away from Sophie. He was obviously feeling ashamed."It worked" Sophie said and made him surprised. "He is not Scott anymore. He is now Kratos with a Kratos face" she waved her hand cluelessly."So, what is the frying pan and fire you were talking about?" the Mage asked excitedly."His enchantment only became stronger after Jones saw his true scarred face" Sophie shook her head pitifully."That's unbelievable. I thought it was working because he looked like Scott" the Mage let out a long sigh. "It means this is harder than we thought. We need another approach"
Sophie was becoming impatient at the small space in which she fitted herself to hide away from being seen. The darkness of the night was not reliable enough to conceal her identity. It had been long she had been waiting but Class and Rob were yet to show up. She feared they had turned and were making a move against her already."Where is she?" Rob's whispers got into her ears. She came out and met the two of them."What kept you so long?" she questioned angrily."You told us we should keep this a secret" Class stared at Rob for his support."We have to make sure no one knows we are coming to you" Rob supplemented.Sophie was excited to hear that. She felt she could rely on them."That's good. Are you up to the task?" she asked sternly."There was enough wrath in me to cook him already. He doesn't stand a chance against me" Class showed her his sword."Honestly, I hate looking at his face. It is disgusting" Rob made a horrible face. "I'm going to kill him brutally in a way you will li
