NIA’S POV

My eyes fluttered as I adjusted it to the early morning light. I glanced around the room, feeling out of place. No matter how much I try to get the thoughts of my present condition out of my mind, it keeps haunting me. On mornings like this, Gael would sleep soundly next to me. Things have changed now, and I wake up in my bed alone.

Every day, I stare at my phone, hoping he would send me a text or put a call through after realizing his mistake. As much as I wished for it, I know it wastes time.
