Hayley was shocked to hear Betty talk about Raul loving her. Betty frowned at her expression.
“Were you two like dating in the mainlands?” Betty was inquisitive. She wanted to protect her man so she was trying to find out what was on Hayley’s mind to know if she was still in love with him.
“No; not really,” Hayley replied looking away from her.
“Do you love him?”
Hayley gazed at her. “I’m planning a wedding for next month in case you haven’t noticed.”
Betty smiled. “Yeah, I noticed. Just wanted to find out if you are planning to be a runaway bride.” She laughed.
Hayley did not find that funny.
Immediately, a maid knocked on her door to inform her that the mayor wanted to see her. She appreciated the maid and turned to Betty.
