Leah's anger boiled over as she stormed out of the infirmary. Her vision blurred with rage, she reached out and grabbed a vase from a nearby stand, hurling it against the wall with a shattering crash.

The pieces scattered across the floor, mirroring her fracturing composure. She continued down the corridor, knocking over another vase, its delicate porcelain shattering into countless pieces.

Her mind raced with disbelief and fury. Killian, her supposed mate, was sleeping at the bedside of the very woman accused of murdering his family.

The sight of Elaine lying there, looking almost serene despite everything, felt like a slap in the face. Leah's rage intensified with each step, her thoughts consumed by the betrayal she felt.

Elaine, the murderer, appeared victorious, lying there as if she had won some twisted game. The sight was more than Leah could handle. She felt the power slipping from her grasp, replaced by a seething resentment.
