Chapter 109

Damien's POV

Halfway home I could tell the poor thing fell asleep on my back. Once we got to the edge of the tree line near the pack house I had Alex grab him off my back so I could shift and change back.

As soon as I finish getting dressed I received a link from Reid telling me it's over. Xavier is all right and they're heading home.

I braced myself against a tree as I let out of breath and fought back my tears as I felt my lip quiver. I was so worried something would happen to him. I felt such a relief knowing Xavier is okay.

Once I composed myself I turned around and gently took him from Alex then carried him into the house. Once in the house I adjusted him in my arms and he made the cutest little noise as he snuggled in closer to me.

I smiled as I carried him up the stairs. I took this time to take in his appearance.

He was definitely nowhere near as bad as Julian but he was still not in good shape at all. He was extremely thin, I could feel how light he was as I carried him. His f
