Chapter 106: Standing in the middle is extremely awkward

Erza POV:

In the middle of the night, I was startled by a thunderbolt; I sat up and panicked to grab anything beside me. I kicked and scratched Ryan unconsciously until I was shocked that he had also woken up.

“Did you have nightmares again?” Ryan's sleepy voice spoke from behind me.

I didn't answer but looked out the window, outside the sky was dark and heavy rain was coming. I suddenly shrank and buried myself in the thick blanket; I was afraid of the sound of thunder; each time, it sounded like ripping my ears.

Ryan didn't understand what I was afraid of, but he hugged me tenderly and pulled me into his chest. Although he did not say words of comfort, his actions made me feel very secure. I leaned on him and slowly fell asleep.
