Chapter 134: Suppress emotions

I fell silent, and our conversation ended.

I couldn't sleep that night, and Ryan didn't come back either. It was only early in the morning, around four o'clock, that I first saw Ryan drinking. His breath was filled with the pungent smell of alcohol, and although he was no longer awake, he always acted gently when he approached me, perhaps because he was afraid that he would disturb my sleep while I was always awake.

Ryan slowly took off his coat; I immediately closed my eyes when he saw me approaching.

One side of the bed sank, and I knew Ryan was lying beside me; he was lying flat and staring at the ceiling.

After a while, Ryan gently turned around and hugged me. My act of pretending to be asleep seems stupid to him, but whether it's the alcohol or his mood swings, Ryan doesn't seem to notice that I'm just pretending.
