Silas - POV

I shifted into my wolf form and glowered at Theo and Janice as they stepped down from their thrones. Emily shook her head and cried, urging me to leave while tears streamed down her face. It pained me to see her in such distress. My wolf, Ray, sensed the familial connection, confirming what I already knew. It was time to free my mother and take her home to be with my mate.

Theo transformed into his gray wolf, aggressively towering and baring his canines. I clawed at his face as he growled furiously. I evaded his attack and struck him hard on the back, causing Theo to fall to the ground, moaning. Taking note of the situation, I rushed to Emily's aid, but before I could reach her, a gust of black wind pushed me backward. I stumbled but planted my heels firmly on the ground to resist the magical force.
