CHAPTER 84. THE PROMISE 

ATHENA'S POV

The night wrapped around me like a velvet cloak. Every corridor echoed with the hushed whispers of the night, and the moonlight spilled through the windows, casting ethereal shadows on the walls. Each breath I took seemed amplified, a bundle of nerves and anticipation as I navigated the quiet passages.

Upon reaching my room, I gingerly closed the door. The darkness within felt like a conspirator, concealing my late-night venture. My hand fumbled for the light switch, but before I could illuminate the room, a voice emerged from the shadows, shattering the illusion of solitude.

"Finally back?" Xavier's voice, a mixture of surprise and stern authority, made me jump. The sudden presence of his silhouette was an unwelcome revelation. Shit! He was back. With a swift motion, I switched on the lights, and there he stood, his eyes scrutinizing my every move. My heart raced, and a sigh of relief morphed into a nervous giggle that escaped my lips.

So much can be achieved with truthfulness. Authors make their female protagonists out to be innocent and humble but it's their secrets that cause all the damn chaos!! And people lose their lives Becoz of.........
