Chapter 14 ELDER PANTON

XAVIER'S POV

I held my breath while I followed my uncle into his office. My nose flared, sucking up the aroma of his frustration. He was angry, and I didn't appreciate him reprimanding me in front of Athena, but my wolf and I decided to give him a chance to speak first.

“Are you insane?" He boomed, the chair made a screeching sound over the wooden floor as Elder Panton dragged it from beneath the desk. He plopped down, sighing. “I thought you said you were searching for a Luna for our pack, not out frolicking with some measly little human.”

“Don't you dare talk about, Athena, like that," I roared, my lips peeled back revealing my canines. I snarled at the old werewolf, warning him how serious I was. “She should be respected, and I will accept nothing else."
