Zeroing In Truth

I gripped the duvet and made sure that none of the parts of my body was exposed.

“I…um…the night that I approached you and your Beta, before then, I was disguised as a guy waiter,” I began, my throat dry.

“But when I overheard some of your conversations, I couldn't resist. I needed money desperately for my escape from Mother Teresa's grip, and also needed protection." I paused, anxiously awaiting his reaction.

"So, I pretended to be a waiter and heard you guys talking about your special weeks and secret contracts," I explained nervously. "I didn't mean to pry, but I was desperate for a way out of my miserable life at the orphanage."

Alpha Zach's expression softened slightly as he absorbed my words. "You were just trying to survive," he observed, his gaze less intense. "But still…” he shook his head. “This is not okay, omega.”
