"It's okay! You aren't at fault," she said slowly and quietly with a smile.

"Can you not smile? Your situation isn't too good and you are smiling, why?" I asked her.

"It doesn't matter Adrian! It doesn't," she said, still smiling.

"I'm so sorry I can't help you as much as I want to, my authority is limited," I told her.

"Of course, I know that! I know you have done enough already. Your coming here is already helping on its own," she said to me.

"I have briefed her on what's going on and what the Alpha ordered and she agreed to go," Nurse Margarita said as she arranged some bags with medical supplies.

"Why did you do that?" I said quietly to her, moving aside from Vanessa.
