Ava' POV "Yes! Yes, it would be my honor" I hugged her tight and began to imagine my kids and her kid or kids playing with mine and it was a wholesome experience. "Look at the time, how about we drop you off?" "Don't worry Ava, Darly would get me. You hurry along and go to your kids. I'm sure they're waiting eagerly." I took her hands in mine and said "thank you for everything Aurora. I sure can't thank you enough but I want you to know that I love you and I will always be there for you. You are an indispensable part of my life and I am so lucky to have you." We hugged ourselves, said our goodbyes and I was on my way. I went into the elevator and there were three other people in it with me. After I greeted them, My phone rang and when I picked up, Jason told me that he had brought the car out of the parking lot and that I would see them immediately I stepped out of the hotel. "Mommyyy" "Hey darlings" I sat down in the front and as I was about to buckle my seatbelt, Nathan
Logan's POVI looked back at my little family from the rearview mirror and my heart filled with gratitude. There was one thing Ava didn't add though and that was– she slept right along with them. They all looked so peaceful in their sleep and their mother had this subtle smile on her face and I was sure it was because her soul was finally at rest. They had become my family now and I vowed to take care of them to the very best of my abilities. The kids were already tired but we had to leave the Nightingale pack that night because even though he didn't specify how long we had, I didn't want to spend an extra day there now that the kids were safely in our custody. Speaking of the kids, I wondered if Ava was brooding over the fact that they called me 'dad' the first time they saw me. I wondered if I should talk to Ava about it when she wakes up but I discarded it as it was a not-so-good idea because if she wasn't thinking about it, she was going to start after I asked her and that would
Aiden's POV"Logan, how dare you?" "How dare I what? Tell me!""Logan, you begged me to accept you as one of my pack members and I did, only for you to stab me in the back!" "Tsk, tsk, tsk.." I clicked my tongue as I sat myself on one of the chairs in the office. "Let's take a trip down memory lane shall we?" "What do you mean by a trip down memory lane?" "When I came to this pack, it was in distress. Our economic situation was even below depressing and our members had begun to leave slowly. Nothing was working out for the members except for you and Isabella.""Who told you that?" "Can you remember that when I came in, I pushed for a restructuring and even though you didn't know why, you approved anyway. I'll tell you why I did all of that and. It was because the people you had around you and in your cabinet were dishonest people who kept on embezzling funds and we're never caught because you didn't care enough to put restraint." "That cannot be true!" "Oh but it is Aiden! It i
Isabella's POV I turned to look upstairs and opened my mouth to ask if she was expecting any guests but I closed them as soon as I had opened them. "Who is there?" I asked but no reply came through so I asked again. "Who is it?" I waited for another ten seconds before adding "the truth is I don't have energy and I wouldn't want to open the door for you because I probably don't like you. But you could do us both a favor and tell me who you are so that the door can be opened unto you." There was still no response and at this time, my patience was wearing thin and I wondered why the person didn't reply and also didn't again knock either. At that point, I thought to myself "what if the person had left already and what if I've been talking to myself all the while?" I shook my head and turned around to go into my room when my mother called out to me. "Issa!" Oh God! What did this woman want again? "Yes mum?" "I forgot that I installed a new security system." "Huh?" My mother was
ISABELLA'S POV. I sighed, put my bag down and went to get the package from the door. When I brought it in, there was no address on it. It was just a plain brown box. I took a long look at it and rotated it to see if there would be anything but there was nothing and so I brought it inside. "Mum, did you order anything?""No, I did not. I thought the package was yours?""I guess. It isn't really addressed to anyone.""Then it's probably yours." I decided to take the package up to my room so I could get a good look at it and when I opened it up, there was a phone in it and a note attached to it that read ‘Play me!" "Mom, did you see who dropped the package?""Bella you know you could always walk to my room instead of shouting from all the way across the hall"That was a simple yes or no question but since my mom was going to be difficult and not answer me, I decided to pick up my package and go to her room and ask her my questions. I went to her room, pushed the door open and went i
Aiden's POVThe journey to the other pack was longer than I had envisioned and that was largely because we had kids on board with us. And with them, it became more of a road trip than an actual journey because we had to make occasional stops other than the ones we made so we could sleep at the motel. One thing that surprised both Ava and I was how good and well behaved the children were. They didn't throw unnecessary tantrums and their arguments didn't last long either– though I'll attribute that to their mum as well. One question they didn't stop asking though was "Are we there yet?" And everytime our answer was "not yet" and then it changed to "Almost." When we finally arrived, the kids were fast asleep and no one seemed to notice that the Alpha was back, which was good because it meant that my Beta and the other staff handled the news of my return with uttermost discretion just the way I had instructed. "Logan, this place is beautiful!" "I know right? It's even better than how I
Aiden's POVNash shrugged and Nathan got up pretty fast so it was his turn to wake Nash. "Nash, come on! You'll miss the ride to our new house!" Ava and I laughed at the kids and continued our ride in silence until Ava said "Wow Logan, your system must be pretty solid for it to even work in your absence." "Of course. That has always been my goal and so I worked towards making that happen. My people know I trust them and they always do everything in their possible best to not break that trust. Also, I made myself accessible to them so that they not only see me as a leader but we can converse and relate as friends and as normal people as well." "Why did you do the same thing with Aiden's pack as well?" "The problem there was that they were in shambles when I arrived. My goal wasn't to destroy them but my goal wasn't also to build them up somi had to be strategic about it. I might not have saved his pack from crumbling because it was always bound to crumble but I was able to save t
Ava's POVAs soon as we stepped into the house, a man whom I guessed was the butler walked over to where we stood and greeted us as he gestured to some staff to go and get our smaller bags from the car. "Alpha Logan, it's such a pleasure to see you again after such a long time." "I know right? It's been a while." Turning to me, he continued "Good evening my lady, it's a pleasure to have you. I'm Kendrick the butler." He was visibly older than Logan and I put together but he was still as agile as ever. I took his extended arm and proceeded to introduce myself. "Well, there's not much introduction to do. I'm Ava Silverpelt but you can call me Ava." Smiling, he turned to Logan who smiled back and then he turned back to address me. "As you can visibly see, I'm a man of age," he chuckled, using one hand to cover his mouth as if he didn't want Logan to hear what he was going to say next he continued, "But I'm young at heart." We all laughed and then he picked up from where he stopped.
