Luna's ceremony
Destiny was nervous. She had never been a part of the luminal, the moonlight bond. It was an old ritual and performed in only a few packs. The mated or about to be mated couple assembled under the full moon and received blessings from Luna. Unlike the pack run and other parties, it wasn't just about mating and rutting. It was a sacred ceremony.
The high priests adorned the couple's bodies with sacred tattoos. Juices from the moonflower also known as morning glory were combined with some herbs which held magical properties. It was sunk beneath the skin in intricate patterns. It was said that the stronger the glow, the stronger would be the bond. When Jake asked her if she would like to be part of the ceremony before their mating. She had readily agreed.

Standing in front of a full-length mirror, Destiny stared at the lines on her body. Her mother's tattoo had been more like a maze, lines ran apart from each other, but always running parallel.
