It was cold in the cell Ellie was lying in, the werewolf covered in bruises. She didn’t know if the cold was because of the natural temperature in the room or if it was because of the pain she was currently in, thanks to the two werewolves who assaulted her earlier. Sure, she may probably deserve it, trying to run away like she did. It was no doubt that made her seem quite suspicious to them, if her being here hadn’t already. But even so… She didn’t think she would be treated this cruelly, even if this was the notorious Devorare Pack.

No… She should’ve expected it, if anything. She knew the pack she was dealing with, the Alpha she made a deal with. And yet… What in the world made her think she would be able to sneak out of here unscathed? What made her think, after William made the pack see her as an equal, that she would be able to do this one act without consequence? Especially after witnessing firsthand what they do to traitors of their own pack? Honestly… What was she thinking…?
