"That's enough."Before the spar could go any further, a familiar voice rang out, grabbing every werewolf's attention. Many did not need ot look to see who spoke just now, as the Devorare wolves only turned and bowed before the source, including Jengo. Only Ellie did not turn to see who it was who spoke."We greet you, Alpha William," Jengo greeted."We greet you, oh great Alpha," the others followed.Ellie slowly turned to the speaker. As it would turn out, it truly was William who came along, much to her increasing stupor.'Why is he here...?' she wondered. Alpha William may be in this pack, why was he here in the training grounds? He couldn't have any sort of business here, could he?William made no eye contact with Ellie, though; only kept his eyes on Jengo. "I was wondering where you were, Jen. I see someone likes to work fast in upholding their promise.""But of course, Alpha. I do intend to do you a great service," Jengo stated. "If I were to delay things any longer after our c
Later that night, Ellie lay in bed, exhausted from everything that happened today, more in terms of mentality than physically. Once her spar with Jengo ended, she practically got assaulted by a plethora of questions from the other trainees. Mainly about her fighting capabilities, as there were rarely any people who could keep up with Jengo in a spar. Despite how highly they thought of her, though, Ellie had doubts that Jengo actually went all out on her. Not if he truly was as strong as his peers thought him to be, and certainly not when the point of the spar was for them to get used to each other's presence so as to not get affected by their rejection's aftermath.Regardless of his strength, Ellie did not want to try to fight him again to see who the stronger werewolf truly was. Rather, she did not want to encounter the Beta ever again. She may have gotten used to his company now, but that did not mean she has become thrilled in seeing him after that. Especially not when... when she
'Of course he would also see me for that...' It shouldn't surprise Ellie that William would also be here for that. For their deal. It was the main and only reason why she was kept in this pack. Yet, even though she knew this so well... "I really don't want to do this to Jen, but as you know, I am in need for a successor if this pack is going to continue on for the next generation," William stated. "Now hold still. I'll make this quick as possible." At that point, the Alpha kept his 'mate' pinned down, and kissed her deeply on the lips. Ellie was torn at his action. On one hand, she wanted to push William away, to be free from another round of sex with him, to avoid the higher chance of getting pregnant with his kid. She was her own person; she should have a right to have a say in what the were about to do, regardless if this was part of their deal or now, or even if they were mates or not. On the other hand... she was far too frightened by this werewolf. Bu what he will do if she w
The next few days after that night, Ellie had been undergoing training in the Devorare Pack. As the time passed, many trainees were starting to see her as one of them, as a fellow member of the pack. Glad as she was that these people were seeing her as an equal, she knew better than to really think all is well. Once her real role in this pack comes to an end, she was to get kicked our of this place, and that would be the least that can happen to her. Still, looking at all these werewolves' expressions, she could genuinely see how much they accept her, unlike the werewolves back in the Hermit Pack. It was possible that hew view and memories of them had changed after the last Wolf Swap Rite, but from what she could recall of them, Ellie did not seem to remember a time when the Hermit werewolves saw her as a companion. That is, not during the time they pretended to like her. They were friendly with her, sure, but the expression they had in their eyes? It was different from how the Devora
For the past week that Ellie had been in the Devorare Pack, she had overheard plenty of things, mainly about some big battle from reports made from the patrols, or those who overheard the news. In fact, even during training these days, some of the weaker werewolves spoke about wanting to get strong enough to down tough enemies, even though she neither saw nor heard anything that could result for such need of motivation. It really confused her as she heard of these things from the other werewolves, making her wonder what was happening outside the pack. Each rumor she had been hearing concerning the happenings outside made her more and more curious about what was happening in the pack, question what sort of people were crazy enough to get in a fight with the Devorare Pack. Adding on how desperatly William wanted her to have his child before, it really made her wonder if she could simply call it a 'fight', as well as what the pack's whole situation was."Is this pack in the middle of a w
Night has come once more. With it was another time of solitude for Ellie, as she lied in bed. "Another day gone. Spent with training..." she muttered, looking at her hand as she made it into a fist, getting a feel of her own strength. It had been on her mind for a good while now. That is, ever since Ashina and Morgan had their private chat earlier. At first, she only did it as a means of escape from what the hatter had said, but the more Ellie thought about it, the more bothered she was. Now that she had fully recovered, it became clear that she was far from weak. From what she saw during her time training with the Devorare werewolves, she could see that her capabilities were better than that of Maddie's prior to the Wolf Swap Rite. Taking that into consideration, did that meant that she was originally this strong? Had something gone wrong in the rite that no one in the Hermit Pack knew of? Regardless of which it was, if she had improved in the time she healed, what about Maddie? D
William sat at his desk in his office, looking over some reports that were given to him. "I see... So those people have gone silent," he spoke."Yes, Alpha. We don't know if they have finally decided to give up, or if they're planning on something," a messenger answered."That's not possible. With how long this war has gone on? It'd be far too sudden for them to just call it quits," Jen stated. "Those bastards must be up to something."William nodded in agreement to the statement. "That is true. We may need to increase security if that is the case. Who knows what those people will do if we leave things as they are? Tomorrow, I'll check on the trainees. See if there are any who are ready to work as guards. I'll even have the Omegas help out. Maybe even let them take over patrolling for a time.""To have the enemy lower their guards more and believe us to be gullible enough as to think they will give in, is it? Sounds like a good idea," Jen agreed. "Considering how Omegas usually act, t
Jen's eyes dilated at the question William had asked; the name that came out of his mouth. Did William really just ask about Ellie? When this was supposed to be their time together? He was not much of a jealous werewolf, and he knew William had assured him plenty of times that nothing will change between them, but he could not help worrying about this nonstop.William himself realized the question he had just asked and hastily said, "I ask that you don't get me wrong, Jen. I am not asking about her because she is my mate; I am asking to make sure she has not caused you any trouble. When I went to see her the other night, I warned her against doing anything that will complicate things for you. I know you may be worried that the mate bond will attract me to her more, but if she did anything to you at all, I will take matters into my own hands, and make sure she pays. I refuse to let you become victim to whatever trouble she caused. Now, did something happen between you two?""I..." Jeng
