CHAPTER 36

MILA

Grace ran as fast as she could. It had been a while since she found this freedom and it was exhilarating. The gush of wind in her fur… the way the hard earth felt underneath her paws as she took one step after another, it was just another world.

“And you keep me locked up in your head,” Grace spoke as she came to an halt at a cliff and howled at the rising moon.

“Oh, I don’t mind letting you go. It is so blissful to not be worried about anything for a while,” Mila spoke softly as she rested. Mila had actually forgotten how Grace’s head was her sanctuary. A place where she was visible, but invisible. Where her powers didn’t work and she could just rest and be herself. It was only in Grace’s head that she could sleep in peace, without a fear of being watched, or someone accidentally stumbling on to her and, well, demanding her love and affection.

“Your whining is kind of mood-killer,” Grace spoke as she continue to run aimlessly.
