Chapter Ninety - Seven

AMELIA'S POV

"I couldn't keep a baby alive. It was my fault that my baby was dead. It was all my fault and no one's to blame, and there was no way I'd lose a husband."

I dialed Penelope's number, putting the phone on speaker as I proceeded to get my clothes.

I'd be leaving very soon.

"Hello."

"Hello, Penelope," I called out.

"Ma'am?" She sounded tired.

Of course, she was.

"How have you been, Penelope?"

"Tired ma'am." She said. "And likewise the Boss." She said.

I facepalmed.

"How long has he been in the office?" I asked.

"Ever since two days ago. He only went out once to see Mr. Rick and came back afterward. He has been working non-stop, Ma'am. And I'm afraid he would drop dead anytime soon." She said, more like pleaded.

"What about Crystabelle? Has she come looking for me?"

"She came yesterday, but for something else. She came to get a file concerning a kid that was missing last week, but other than that, nothing else."
