“Good morning, aunty Laura,” Alice greeted.

“Good morning to you too, my little angel,” Laura greeted Alice as she opened up her plate and was about to start eating.

“Wait!” I ordered her.

“Why should I wait? I’m really starving here,” Laura said.

Something is really off here. I can’t seem to put my finger on it, I thought.

“I would like to taste your food before you eat it,” I said.

“No. I’m really hungry and I want to eat right now,” Laura said.

“I’m your bodyguard, ma’am. I have to taste your food first before you eat it,” I said with a straight face.

“Stop this act, Ricky,” Laura lamented.

“This is absurd, Ricky. Do you think the food was poisoned or anything?” Cassey asked.

“I didn’t mention poison. Laura may be allergic to some of the ingredients used to make the food. And that is what I want to taste.”
