"What do you want from me?" Maria Nixon felt the separate hammering of her pulse at her throat and heart as she tentatively read the two men's impassive faces.

She hesitantly looked around herself and another kind of apprehension, alarming, moistened her forehead. She was brought to a dusky warehouse on the outskirts. It was abandoned and broken from the outside. And the first impression she got was that they were Damien's guards, who were ordered to take her to a faraway place and execute her.

She cried and refused to go inside. Her legs gave away when they took measured steps towards her and failed any attempt of running away she had.
