Eda

My mother smiles as she says, “You are mated to the Alpha of the Scarlet Pack? You are mated to Evan and Claudia’s son?”

I bite my tongue, so I don’t correct her by saying ‘son’s’ it’s bad enough that she knows that Osborn is my mate.

She shakes her head as she lets out an unhinged laugh. She then opens the door and calls out, “Master Wraith! Master Wraith!”

There’s a pit in my stomach as I watch the door to see him come in. He looks annoyed already. He looks at me like I’m the dirt on the bottom of his shoes. My mother says, “Master, she is mated to the Alpha. She can help us get our hands on a true elf.”

His smile grows wide, and he says, “I always knew you would be good for something. We’ll send her and the girl on their way. Eda, we will be watching you. Make sure to give us an opportunity to get the Alpha out on his own.”

My eyes flicker between my mother and Master Wraith. I know I can’t argue with him if I do it will only cause pain for either me or Alita. I nod my head slo
