I opened one eye and looked at him carefully.

"Injured?" Crouching down, Clive ran his fingertip along my shoulder. The scar crossed my chest and this shoulder. Instead of not touching it, he ran his finger straight down the top as if there was nothing wrong with it.

"Of course not. I was only concerned about you. You may be cruel, Sam, but you are still far more vulnerable than I am." Feeling visibly naked, I jumped off the floor and rushed to the bathroom.
