Daniel places his arms on the table and leans forward on them so quickly that it startles Brooke.

"Do you know who he is?" He raises his eyebrows expectantly at her.

I can see from the corner of my eyes; Jarek is slowly walking our way.

I knew he was listening to our conversation because I felt his presence near us. This is some kind of mate bond's spooky power that we both can sense each other's presence.

I know he needs time to process all this, and I should give in the time to come to terms with Brooke, so I didn't react at all and gave him the space he needed.

This is a huge secret, and it is completely fine that he needs time to deal with this. I will never force him into building a relationship with his sister, but I pray that he does give this relationship a chance.
