Chapter 18

To alleviate the boredom and silence, I decided to go through the papers on Martin's desk even though James had warned me. I was a snoopy woman and everyone should've known that by now.

The map I had seen earlier was rolled and kept aside, there was another large paper spread out on the desk and my eyes wandered there without a warning.

It was a map of a city not broadway but another city nearby. I found it boring so I decided to look away and pick up the old, leatherbound book that seemed to be tearing apart from the inside.

As I opened it, I realized, it was a journal-Martin’s journal. I froze and then kept it aside, I couldn't read his journal or anyone's, that was a private. I wouldn't want someone to read mine if I ever wrote anything.

A loud, thundering sound echoed through the house and I yelped in fear.
