KALILA POV

I exhaled deeply, then choked on the putrid smell of decay that invaded my nostrils.

"Damn it, Ares!" I gasped, struggling to shield my nose with my arms, but they were too far apart. I tried to bring them closer, but the chains holding me back prevented me from doing so.

"Hello?!" I called out, but I knew it was useless. I was alone in the room.

The room had dingy walls, and cobwebs hung from the ceiling. The air was thick with dust, and the only light came from a flickering torch in the corner.

Glaring at the chains that held me back, I couldn't help but feel a strange sense of unease. It was my first time being restrained, and the experience left me vulnerable and exposed.

Was this how all werewolves were treated, or was it unique to the Crescent Moon pack? Nova had mentioned that punishment varied among packs, depending on the offence committed.
