Chapter 94: Trusting

CHRISTIAN:

"Hey..."

"Shhhhhhh, Lilith's asleep. I need to take her to her room right now." Emily cut me off and I nodded. I walked closer to the bed and saw Lilith asleep while Emily was gently trying to pick her up in her arms so she wouldn't wake up.

"Let me," I uttered, and Emily stepped aside. I had taken care of Lilith since she was a baby, and even though she hardly talked to me, I knew how to carry her in my arms in a comfortable manner. I pulled away my suit jacket, dropped it on the bed beside her, and pulled out my wristwatch.

"Here, hold on to this." As Emily collected it, I leaned closer to Lilith and placed my hands on her back. As I picked her in my arms, she made a little movement making Emily think she would wake, but she didn't,

"Oh, thank goodness," Emily uttered, while I began to walk away with Lilith. As I got to her room, I placed her on the bed gently while Emily placed the duvet on her properly. I watched her lean closer and planted a soft kiss on Lilith's fore
