Chapter 60

Darian carried me and ran for a long time until he suddenly stopped. I could hear him panting. I think he was too tired, so he stopped to rest. I told him, "Let me down."

Darian did as I said. My leg hurts less, so I can stand. I was afraid of the dark, so I still grabbed the corner of his shirt to feel safe. I felt Darian take a few steps forward. I didn't understand what he wanted to do, but I still went with him.

"What's up?" I was confused because I couldn't see anything.

"We have reached the end of the cave," Darian's calm voice said.

Surprised, I walked a few steps and raised my hand to grope. Because there was no light in this place, I automatically pictured a dirt wall at the end of the line, but what I touched was very strange. It looks like a bush with luxuriant leaves.

I heard the rustling sound of leaves. It seemed like Darian was trying to break through this large bush of grass to get out. I wanted to do that but couldn't break the big, stiff branches.
