Being An Alpha...

Alpha Dominic's POV:

I had felt the pain when Gamma Patrick harassed and hurt Astrid. I just couldn’t connect to her, and it was insufferable. But now I was there, and I would save her. “Astrid!” I shouted as she ran toward the cliff. She turned my way, but her eyes held confusion. I would have lamented our broken mind link if I had the time. Instead, I raced toward her, shifting into my wolf's form as a ran. On the way, I knocked the gamma to the ground, twisting his neck with the movement.

As I jumped to catch Astrid, she fell off the cliff, and an arrow flew past me. Pounding met my ears, and I glanced backward. Hundreds of intruders ran toward the pack borders, and the gamma was scurrying toward the group with a limp.

“Alpha!” Beta Alexander mind linked me with urgency. “The school is on fire, and the pups are locked inside.”

I stood frozen in time for a second, looking at the river flowing below, at my mate washing away. My mate. My kids.
